Call Papers PhD Scholarship on Multimodal Interaction and Museum Learning


Call Papers Mobiquitous Lab at the University of Strathclyde, UK invites applicants for the position of 3-year PhD scholarship funded by the University. Museums around the world to experiment with new interface technologies to enhance both the entertainment and educational assistance to visitors. But while many support the installation of hands-on activities, this often consists only of the button-pushing panic. It seems far more difficult to support the intellectual, emotional involvement with the content and learning meaningful.
This Call Papers project will examine how a variety of multimodal interaction techniques to support the involvement of a caring and learning in museums and how the novel interaction modalities to enhance the traditional museum experience, for example by adding an artifact exhibition. different sensory modalities provide different affordances for interaction and learning. http://www.callforpapersinfo.com
http://thescholarshipprogramme.com This Call Papers project will focus on what kind of support the involvement of different modalities, and how it might be more powerful when combined (or yourself, such as only using tactile output.) Students will study the existing installation in the museum as well as conduct focused experiments. Ideally, to which both students will develop small-scale installations such as using different modalities to represent information. We Call Papers aim to build partnership with local Scottish museum in the project.
